My name is Travis Weimer and people call me "The Movie Maker". I am the founder of The Movie Foundation, which is a non-profit community dedicated to helping film students and independent film-makers fulfill their Hollywood Dreams.

Since 2002, The Movie Foundation has been supporting these students and film-makers thorough grants and scholarships, but I have always felt that there was something more that I could do.

It was then that I decided to create the opportunity to give people all over the US, and the world, the ability to make movies, star in our films and live the Hollywood dream… and now that includes YOU too!

Let me explain…

I can't remember a time when movies were not an important part of my life. I grew up in a small town in Utah where my family owned and operated a movie theater. My mother still tells stories of me sitting behind her in the playpen as an infant while she took tickets! I spent a good many years of my childhood in that theater and I have always been mesmerized by the excitement and magic of the movies!

You see, to me, Hollywood has always been a magical kind of place. I remember hearing stories of how my great-grandfather worked for MGM back during the "golden days" of Hollywood…the 40's and 50's. Back when Bob Hope, Judy Garland, Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brando and Cary Grant were bigger than life. He used to tell everyone about the style and grace of those times, about the sense of "magic" in the air, but how he feared those days were all but gone.

Those stories stuck with me and I knew I needed to start working on a NEW concept in movie making…one that would welcome anyone who was sick of the exclusivity in Hollywood…anyone who loves film and wants to take part in something revolutionary!

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of survey after survey, exit polls, test screenings, feedback forms - for projects ALREADY FINISHED! Why don't they ASK US what WE think when it can make a difference? Well, that's who we are -- we ask YOU what you want BEFORE we shoot anything. We believe that you, the viewing public, are smarter than anyone gives you credit for. This is why we are building a true film making "community" because together we can accomplish amazing things!"

I also realized that building this "community" site was going to take something much bigger than myself. To be successful, I would need someone who embodied that sense of style and grace that seems to have been lost. It was about this time that I had the good luck to meet an up-and-coming actress named Shalisse Ryan. She exuded the same sense of self, the same sense of character, as did Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy. Well, it took several meetings and in-depth descriptions of my vision, but she finally signed on. So together, Shalisse Ryan and I created www.themoviemakers.com as a venue for anyone who loves the movies, dreams of being in the movies and wants to give new "magic" to old Hollywood.

Here's How to Land a Role in Our Next Film:

Just follow the steps under our "Be a Star" link to the left. It's a simple process of giving us a short bio, uploading some pictures and letting us know why YOU should be our next star. You can even upload a short video of yourself if you wish. That's it! Once you complete the registration and pay a small registration fee, you're on your way!

From the submissions we receive our panel of experts will narrow the search down to 100 lucky members who will then be asked to submit an audition video of a scene from our film.

Five girls and five guys will be hand-picked and flown to Los Angeles to screen test for a shot at a part in the film. Now let us clarify this point - this will be for a STARRING role, not just a simple walk-on! From here it's all up to our members…

Not interested in being the star? You Can Pick!

Not interested in being the star? How about choosing the star! Similar to the elimination process used on American Idol, you can help choose the next potential A-List Movie Star.

• The screen tests of our ten finalists will be recorded and posted on www.themoviemakers.com members-only homepage.
